I live in Kerikeri, New Zealand and this year I started studying at a culinary school! Miripoix (I say it miri-pwaa) is a play on my name and the word 'mirepoix', a French word used to describe the base of onions, carrots and celery used in nearly every single French dish. I'm just beginning to create the base for my own cooking life so I think miripoix is quite appropriate!
